D. Scott McLain,
A.B., J.D., CCIM is
a Commercial Real Estate Broker and Developer for Coldwell Banker Commercial
McLain Real Estate and McLain Development, LLC in Huntsville, AL. He is in the
business of commercial sales, leasing, development and management of office and
business and has worked in this firm since 1984. His practice specializes in
retail and general brokerage, site selection and development in the Southeast
U.S. Clients include casual-theme restaurants, fast-food restaurants, discount
and specialty retail, big-box tenants and “net” investors.
Prior
to Coldwell Banker, he was a founding associate practicing attorney in the
Huntsville, AL office, business and real estate practice, for Sirote &
Bennett; associate practicing attorney, general business practice, for Cleary,
Lee, Morris, Evans & Rowe in Huntsville; and Law Clerk for the Hon. E.B.
Haltom Jr., U.S. District Court Judge.
He
attended Tulane University, New Orleans, LA; an A.B. in Public Policy, from
Duke University, Durham, NC; a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law,
Birmingham, AL; and his Post-Graduate work was at the Advanced Management
Development Program in Commercial Real Estate at Harvard University’s Graduate
School of Design in Boston. For ICSC, he has served as Alabama-Mississippi
State Public Relations and Community Service Chair; North Alabama Chair, on the
Alabama Governmental Affairs Committee, Gulf South Idea Exchange Committee,
State Director, Alabama-Mississippi, and Southern Division Chair, Government
Relations. Scott has won numerous awards in his field over the past 30-plus
years. Scott McLain serves as an ICSC Ambassador.
Mr. McLain will present "Maximizing your Investment in ICSC for Fun and Profit," on Wednesday, May 24, 10:30 - 11:00 am in the Talent Development Pavilion.
He will also be available for individual mentoring sessions.
