Chuck Shaw

Chuck Shaw serves as the COO of Fite Development Company, an almost 50-year old, privately held commercial development company based in Sacramento, CA.  Fite is a vertically integrated organization with development, construction, brokerage and property management entities.

Prior to rejoining Fite Chuck served as a VP of Development for SyWest Development, San Rafael, CA.  His efforts were focused to the company’s approximately 360,000 square foot, 28 acre, Howe Bout Arden (HBA) redevelopment in Sacramento County.  Chuck had previously spent a decade as a development partner with Fite and almost two decades in corporate restaurant development with McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Boston Market and Krispy Kreme where he he served in capacities from Real Estate Manager to VP of Development.

Realizing the best deals were meaningless without entitlements, Chuck learned that an educated applicant created a more efficient and productive development team.  The second lesson, even the best development team didn’t function absent a working relationship with its municipality.  With the discretionary entitlement process becoming ever more difficult, Chuck has spent the past years as a project advocate building relationships in municipalities prior to, during and after project completion. Chuck is a past ICSC State Director, Western Division Government Relations Chair and ICSC Trustees’ Distinguished Service Award Recipient.  He currently serves as an ICSC Ambassador.

Mr. Shaw will be participating in the “Speed Networking Event,” at the Talent Development Pavilion, Tuesday May 23, 8:00-9:00 am.

He will also be available for individual mentoring sessions.
